SKI CHALLENGE WORLD CUP 26 IN CRANS-MONTANA

The World Cup arrives at one of the most historic venues in alpine skiing — Crans-Montana.

Since 1911, when Arnold Lunn organized the first downhill race in history on these slopes, Crans-Montana has been shaping the evolution of alpine skiing. The legendary 1987 World Championships transformed this Swiss resort into the capital of skiing — 14 medals for Switzerland, including 8 world titles, a record that still stands nearly 40 years later. Names like Pirmin Zurbriggen, Maria Walliser, and Peter Müller wrote history here.

The Mont Lachaux course is renowned for its selective and technically demanding nature — comparable to Kitzbühel on the men’s circuit. The slope was completely remodelled in 2010 and has become a true classic on the World Cup calendar. Champions like Mikaela Shiffrin, Lara Gut-Behrami, Sofia Goggia, and Federica Brignone have conquered this mountain. The lower section is particularly notorious for its complexity, demanding precision through every gate.

This weekend, Ski Challenge brings Crans-Montana to life with two World Cup Race Events:

Crans-Montana rewards technical excellence and calculated aggression. The course punishes hesitation but also overly risky lines. After missing Schladming, Pepikum20 returned with a statement victory in Crans-Montana. The Slovenian took the One Try race by 134 milliseconds over Hermaaaaan, proving he’s still very much in the championship fight. But Hermaaaaan answered back in TimeAttack, keeping his grip on the overall lead.
