AERO & FAME
Your Guide to Smarter Gear Choices

What Are AERO and FAME?
Every piece of equipment in Ski Challenge has stats that affect your performance. While Skis boost your Speed, Carve, and Grip, your Helmet and Suit focus on two different stats: AERO and FAME.
- AERO (Aerodynamics) determines how well you cut through the air. Higher AERO means less air resistance, allowing you to maintain higher speeds throughout your run.
- FAME determines your coin rewards. Every point of FAME adds a +2% bonus to all coins you earn after a race.
These two stats create an interesting choice: Do you want to be faster, or do you want to earn more?
Why Should You Care?
AERO: The Speed Stat
In a racing game, speed is everything — and AERO directly impacts your top speed.
Here’s how it works: The game calculates your total AERO from your Helmet and Suit combined. This total is converted into a speed factor between 0.80 and 1.00:
| Total AERO | Speed Factor | What It Means |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | 0.80 | Speed limiter hits hard |
| 50 | 0.90 | Moderate performance |
| 100 | 1.00 | Maximum speed potential |
The difference between 0.80 and 1.00 might sound small, but in competitive racing, that 20% translates to significant time differences on the leaderboard.
FAME: The Earning Stat
FAME works differently — it doesn’t affect your race at all. Instead, it multiplies your rewards afterward.
The formula is simple: +2% coins per FAME point.
| Total FAME | Coin Bonus | Example (100 base coins) |
|---|---|---|
| 10 | +20% | 120 coins |
| 30 | +60% | 160 coins |
| 50 | +100% | 200 coins |
| 80 | +160% | 260 coins |
Over hundreds of races, this adds up massively. A player with high FAME gear can progress twice as fast as someone ignoring this stat entirely.
Why Upgrade Your Gear?
Upgrading your Helmet and Suit from Level 0 to Level 10 adds approximately +9 to both AERO and FAME.
That means:
- A Level 10 Racer helmet gives you noticeably more speed than Level 0
- A Level 10 Farmer helmet earns you significantly more coins than Level 0
Upgrades benefit every playstyle. Whether you prioritize speed or earnings, higher levels always help.
Three Types of Gear
Not all helmets and suits are created equal. We’ve designed three distinct archetypes so you can choose gear that matches your goals:
🏎️ Racer Gear
High AERO, Low FAME
Racer gear maximizes your aerodynamics at the cost of coin earnings. Every stat point is pushed toward speed.
Best for:
- League competitions where every millisecond counts
- Climbing the leaderboards
- Tournament events
- Players who prioritize winning over grinding
The trade-off: You’ll be fast, but your coin income will be lower. Expect slower progression when it comes to buying and upgrading new gear.
Example T5 Legendary Racer Helmet: AERO 25 / FAME 3
⚖️ Balanced Gear
Medium AERO, Medium FAME
Balanced gear splits the difference. You won’t be the absolute fastest, and you won’t earn the absolute most — but you’ll be competitive in both areas.
Best for:
- Casual players who want solid all-round performance
- Players who don’t want to swap gear constantly
- Those who prefer simplicity over optimization
The trade-off: You’re never the best at anything, but you’re never bad at anything either.
Example T5 Legendary Balanced Helmet: AERO 20 / FAME 11
💰 Farmer Gear
Low AERO, High FAME
Farmer gear sacrifices top speed for maximum coin earnings. You’ll be slightly slower, but your rewards after each race will be significantly higher.
Best for:
- Grinding coins to buy new equipment
- Upgrading your gear collection faster
- Career mode progression
- Players who think long-term
The trade-off: You’ll lose some races you might have won with Racer gear. But you’ll afford better gear faster, which pays off over time.
Example T5 Legendary Farmer Helmet: AERO 16 / FAME 16
Real Numbers: The Full Picture
Let’s compare a full T5 Legendary setup (Helmet + Suit combined):
| Build | Total AERO | Speed Factor | Total FAME | Coin Bonus |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Full Racer | 85 | ~0.97 | 6 | +12% |
| Full Balanced | 73 | ~0.95 | 32 | +64% |
| Full Farmer | 62 | ~0.92 | 46 | +92% |
What this means in practice:
The Racer is about 5% faster than the Farmer.
But the Farmer earns 80% more coins per race. Over 100 races earning 1000 base coins each:
- Racer earns: 112.000 coins
- Farmer earns: 192.000 coins
That’s 80.000 extra coins — enough to buy multiple upgrades.
Summary
AERO makes you faster. FAME makes you richer.
Your Helmet and Suit are the only gear pieces with these stats, so choose wisely. Racer gear wins races. Farmer gear builds empires. Balanced gear does both okay.
The best players don’t pick one — they use the right tool for the job.
Now get out there and dominate the slopes. 🎿
