Maintainance Status:

We worked hard over the summer and listened carefully to your concerns. Now it’s time to present the four most important changes.

Release 2.15 transforms Ski Challenge with five game-changing updates that work together to create a revolutionary racing experience.

Gate miss? Crash? You’re automatically rewound back on your racing line. No speed loss. No frustrating gate miss. Keep racing.

How It Works:

• Miss a gate or crash → Instant auto-rewind → Back on racing line → Keep racing
• Zero interruption to your flow state
• You decide when you start the rewind. Just a small correction needed? Then rewind right shortly. You need to correct your line? Then rewind at a later point.
• As a penaltiy you get +1 second added at the end of the race to your final time for each time a rewind was applied
• Works on every track, every mode, every time

Why It Matters:

• The days of conservative racing are over. Race aggressively. Push limits without fear. Try that risky line. Experiment with different approaches. Mistakes become learning moments, not run-enders.
• Do you remember that nasty gate you missed at the end of Wengen? Gate misses and crashes no longer end your run. They become part of the learning process. Stay in the flow. Race without fear.

• Precise Gate Miss Detection – Fair, accurate calls every time. No more “that wasn’t a miss!” frustration or “that should have been called” confusion. Crystal clear feedback means you always know where you stand.

One-size-fits-all is over. Every ski has its own identity. The equipment system receives a fundamental overhaul that makes ski choice matter more than ever.

The New System:

• We’ve completely rebalanced all ski values based on months of data and feedback to create clear, meaningful distinctions between ski types.
• Introduce three different types of skis: downhill, super-G, and giant slalom skis
• The core trade-off: As speed increases → Turning radius increases → Difficulty increases
• Higher-tier skis are faster on straightaways but more challenging to control through technical sections.

The Three Identities:

DOWNHILL SKIS: Speed Demons

• Maximum top speed
• Widest turning radius
• Lower grip
• Dominates: Fast tracks with long straightaways
• Struggles: Giant slaloms and Super G that have sections with tight turns
• Best for tracks like Zermatt, Kitzbühel or Wengen

SUPER-G SKIS: All-Rounders

• Balanced performance
• Medium turning radius
• Medium grip
• Dominates: Varied terrain with mixed sections
• Philosophy: Good everywhere, exceptional nowhere
• Best for: Tracks like Crans Montana or Bormio

GIANT SLALOM SKIS: Technical Masters

• Tightest turning radius
• Lower top speed
• Higher grip
• Dominates: Technical tracks with many gates
• Struggles: Long straightaways
• Best for: Tracks like Sölden or Munich

Every Ski Type Has:

• Tracks where it excels

• Strategic purpose in your inventory

The Result:

• Track selection matters. Different tracks reward different skis. Study the track. Choose your ski. Adapt your strategy.

Reworked Radius Options

Radius plays a crucial role in how your ski feels and behaves. We’ve fine-tuned the differences between radius options for each ski to preserve its core character while allowing you to adapt it to your individual style.

We’re also adding more value to higher-tier skis:

• Common skis offer one radius option
• Rare skis offer two radius options
• Legendary skis offer three radius options

Additionally, all ski radius options are now unlocked from the start—no more star level requirements. Full control over your equipment choices from day one.

The steering sensitivity slider now has dramatically greater impact. Increased range of the exponential steering curve gives you noticeable differences between settings.

Fine-tune to match YOUR racing style:

• Low sensitivity: Gentle, precise inputs for technical sections
• High sensitivity: Aggressive, responsive steering for quick reactions
• Everything in between: Find your perfect feel

New Time Trial Mode

It was pretty boring to only find out at the end of the race whether you made it or not, right? From now on, you’ll be racing against the clock and getting quick feedback during the race on where you stand.

New Default Camera

The newly introduced close-up camera is the new default camera, as it gives you a more immersive feeling. If you want to stick with the distant camera, simply look for the corresponding setting in the options.

Race vs your own Ghost

Challenge your previous best performances. Race against your own ghost to see exactly where you can improve. Identify the milliseconds that separate good runs from great runs.
